Kate is a post-disciplinary artist and researcher and recently completed her practice research PhD at the University of Plymouth. Working across multiple processes including moving image, sound, performance and drawing, she makes speculative surveys of the rapid transformation of climate-sensitive habitats to expose layers of ecological violence in very local environments. From 2020 to 2025, Kate was founder and co-director of Cine Sisters SW CIC, an initiative supporting women and non-binary people working in film through funded opportunities, curated screenings, skills development, and peer-led networks in Devon and Cornwall.

Until 2020, she co-directed Smooth Space, an artist collective she co-founded in 2011. Smooth Space developed artist residencies in partnership with non-arts organisations in a range of locations across the South West, and hosted monthly peer-support sessions for creatives.

She has received a number of commissions and awards, most recently from Soundart Radio, Aeolus online, BEAST FEaST and Arts Council England.
